Xiaomi Smart Band 10 Pro Review: Enhanced Tracking and Display for Fitness Enthusiasts

The Xiaomi Smart Band 10 Pro is positioned as an upgrade to the standard, cheaper Xiaomi band, incorporating larger features such as a bigger AMOLED screen and built-in GPS tracking. It builds upon Xiaomi’s reputation for making affordable yet capable fitness trackers.

The device boasts a high-quality 1.74-inch, 480 x 366-resolution AMOLED display. A key improvement is the increased peak brightness, which has jumped from 1,200 nits to 2,000 nits, ensuring readability both indoors and out.

In terms of design, the Smart Band 10 Pro is noted for being slimmer than its predecessor, the Band 9 Pro. Xiaomi claims a stronger aluminum frame and offers an optional ceramic edition to enhance the device’s aesthetic appeal.

The operating system is the in-house built HyperOS, and setup is managed through the Mi Fit app, which supports both iPhone and Android phones. While the app functions for checking health and fitness stats or downloading watch faces, its layout and presentation of certain data sections are described as somewhat messy.

For tracking capabilities, the Pro features built-in GPS, allowing reliable route and workout tracking without requiring the user to carry a phone. Health monitoring has been improved through a new heart rate sensor and updated algorithms, providing more accurate readings for both heart rate and sleep.

The reported consistency of health data is strong across various points like resting and average heart rates when compared with other devices. However, users should note that performance during high-intensity workouts was noted as an area where the device could struggle slightly.

Regarding battery life, it includes a 350mAh capacity battery, similar to the Band 9 Pro. Xiaomi estimates up to 21 days of use with light usage, reducing to 15 days for normal use. If the screen is kept on continuously, this drops further to about 8 days.

Crucially, reaching the headline battery life figures requires caution; using the full feature set regularly may reduce longevity. However, in real-world testing, the drop was reported as being minor—less than 5% after an hour of GPS use, and only a 2-3% drop on lighter days.

The Smart Band 10 Pro is presented as a comprehensive all-rounder for fitness enthusiasts, offering strong health and sports tracking without incurring high costs. The combination of the brighter AMOLED display, reliable GPS performance, and improved heart rate monitoring elevates its usability compared to previous models.

However, potential shortcomings include the companion app remaining somewhat messy, basic smartwatch features, and sleep insights that do not perform strongly against top-tier rivals.
