Epomaker TH65 Review: Compact 65% Mechanical Keyboard Analysis

Epomaker’s TH65 is a compact 65% mechanical keyboard that combines a small footprint with wired and wireless connectivity, RGB lighting, a volume knob and hot-swappable switches. APH Networks reviewed the keyboard in its pink configuration with Epomaker’s Crystal Tactile Silent switches. The review was published on August 7, 2026.

The TH65 uses a 65% ANSI layout with 66 keys and a volume knob. It omits the number pad and function row, while several navigation keys are compressed into the right side of the keyboard. The right Ctrl key and tilde key are also absent, with additional functions available through the Fn key.

The keyboard is available in pink, gray-white and black-orange configurations. The reviewed pink version uses translucent keycaps with a pink interior, while the chassis features translucent sections around the sides for RGB lighting. APH Networks described the pink version as particularly vibrant.

The TH65 has an ABS plastic chassis and a polycarbonate plate mounted using a gasket structure. It measures approximately 320mm wide, 120mm deep and 45mm high in the reviewer’s measurements, with a weight of 826 grams. Two sets of kickstands provide three possible incline angles, while rubber feet help keep the keyboard in place.

Connectivity includes USB, 2.4GHz wireless through an included receiver and Bluetooth. The keyboard can operate at a 1000Hz polling rate when wired or using 2.4GHz wireless, while Bluetooth operates at 125Hz. The review also lists latency of 2ms when wired, 5ms over 2.4GHz and 11ms through Bluetooth.

Power comes from two 4,000mAh batteries for a combined capacity of 8,000mAh. In APH Networks’ testing, the TH65 lasted 20 days of use over wireless with the lighting fully enabled before requiring a recharge. The reviewer noted that the keyboard was not being used continuously throughout that period.

The Crystal Tactile Silent switches are designed to provide a quiet typing experience while retaining tactile feedback. They use a 35g actuation force, 52g bottom-out force, a 2.0mm actuation point and 3.6mm total travel. APH Networks found the switches quiet, with a noticeable tactile bump and a firm bottom-out feel.

The longer keys use factory-lubricated Cherry-style stabilizers. Despite being plate-mounted rather than attached directly to the PCB, the stabilizers produced no rattling or squeaking during the review. The keyboard also supports N-key rollover in wired and wireless modes.

The TH65’s internal construction includes multiple layers of damping material. The deck incorporates sandwich foam, an IXPE switch pad, a PET sound-dampening pad and an EPDM socket pad, while thick silicone padding fills the hollow areas in the base. The gasket-mounted design and these layers contribute to the keyboard’s typing feel and sound.

The switches are hot-swappable and support both three-pin and five-pin mechanical switches. APH Networks was able to remove and examine the Crystal Tactile Silent switches, which use a transparent polycarbonate housing, a POM stem and a factory-lubricated construction. Their expected lifespan is 50 million keystrokes.

RGB lighting is provided around the individual keys as well as along the keyboard’s sides and a small section at the top. The translucent keycaps allow the lighting to appear particularly vibrant, while front-printed legends remain visible in dark conditions. Lighting effects, brightness, speed and colours can be adjusted through keyboard shortcuts or the software utility.

The TH65 uses a browser-based web driver that works through Chromium-based browsers. The utility can recognise the keyboard when connected by cable or its wireless receiver and allows users to remap keys, configure secondary functions, manage lighting, create macros and save profiles in JSON format. Firmware updates and application settings are also available through the utility.

The keyboard’s compact construction does make some functions less immediately accessible. The function row is accessed through Fn combinations, while the missing tilde key requires additional key combinations. The reviewer’s daily typing experience was nevertheless positive, although users who require more keys may prefer a larger keyboard.

APH Networks found the TH65 relatively straightforward to disassemble but noted that plastic clips make separating the upper and lower portions somewhat tricky. Removing the volume knob and its retaining nut is required, and care is needed around the USB port and rear switches when separating and reassembling the chassis.

At the time of the review, the Epomaker TH65 had an MSRP of $65 regardless of the selected colour or switch option. APH Networks awarded the keyboard a final rating of 7.4 out of 10, describing it as a compact and capable keyboard with a strong typing experience.

The review concluded that the TH65 combines its compact 65% format with a volume knob, adjustable kickstands, RGB lighting, hot-swappable switches, N-key rollover and three connection modes. Its 8,000mAh battery also delivered 20 days of tested wireless use with the lighting enabled.
