The Epomaker HE108 is a full-sized, 108-key gaming keyboard designed with a comprehensive feature set. It utilizes a tri-mode connectivity system, supporting 2.4GHz, Bluetooth (BT), and wired connections, and is compatible with Mac, Windows, and Android devices.
Technically, the HE108 features a hot-swappable PCB and supports N-key rollover and anti-ghosting. Its build quality incorporates a gasket-mounting structure, a PC plastic plate, and a flex-cut PCB in FR4, enhancing the typing experience. The keyboard is equipped with five layers of sound dampening, utilizing materials like PORON sandwich foam, IXPE switch pad, Sound-Enhancement PET, PORON, and bottom silicone.
The typing experience is further enhanced by the use of Cherry Profile PBT plastic keycaps, which are manufactured using the double-shot technique. The switches are factory-lubed magnetic linear switches that feature Hall Effect accuracy of 0.005mm and support Rapid Triggering and Snap Key (SOCD). Furthermore, the keyboard includes dedicated analog features, including a Hall Effect Switch Deadzone range of 0-0.3mm.
Connectivity and performance metrics are robust. The keyboard boasts an impressive 10000mAh rechargeable battery, providing up to 32 hours of battery life with RGB active, 500 hours with RGB off, and 1000 hours in standby mode. It achieves a polling rate of 8000hz in both USB and 2.4GHz modes, while the scan rate reaches 16,000hz across the full board. The latency is reported at 0.2ms via USB and 0.4ms over 2.4GHz wireless, and 8ms via BT.
Customization and software support are handled by the EPOMAKER Driver 3.0 (v4), which allows users to set key maps, record macros, manage RGB settings, and customize specialized hall effect switch functions like DKS, SOCD, MT, rapid triggering, and deadzone. The keyboard also features South-Facing, per-key RGB LEDs and two-step kickstands for adjustable typing angles of 6, 8, and 10.5 degrees.
Physically, the device is constructed with a thick ABS plastic case and a weight of approximately 1.2kg. It includes dedicated volume controls and is available in a full-size 100% layout. The keyboard package has overall dimensions of 44.5 x 14.1 x 4.8cm, and the total package weight is 1.67kg. The MSRP for this full-size keyboard was reported to be approximately $95 at the time of the review.
