The Zhitai TiPlus 9100 is positioned as a high-performance PCIe 5.0 Solid State Drive from the consumer brand YMTC.
The drive utilizes YMTC’s Xtacking 4.0 NAND technology and is paired with a new MAP1802 Gen 5 controller.
Despite being a DRAM-less design, the drive delivers high sequential performance, with sequential read speeds reaching up to 12,000 MB/s and sequential write speeds up to 10,700 MB/s. Random performance is also noted, reaching 1,850K IOPS.
The drive features a single-sided PCB design, which ensures compatibility with slim laptops and compact systems.
Firmware tuning is included to manage power draw and thermal performance under load.
Zhitai provides proprietary software for users to monitor the drive’s health, perform performance testing, migration, temperature tracking, and lifespan estimation.
The available capacities for the Zhitai TiPlus 9100 include 1 TB, 2 TB, and 4 TB models.
The 1 TB model is priced at 1,459 yuan (approximately $200) in mainland China.
The drive comes with a five-year warranty.
Launch coverage indicates that the TiPlus 9100 represents a significant improvement over YMTC’s earlier PC550 drive, targeting the high end of Gen 5 performance and featuring a faster controller.
The SSD is aimed at gaming systems, thin portables, and desktop builds.
