Samsung has expanded its use of Micro RGB technology with the release of the R95H TV series, making the advanced display capabilities more affordable for consumers. Following an ultra-expensive 115-inch model, the R95H offers a premium option at lower price points. For instance, the 75-inch model is priced at £4299 in the UK, while the 65-inch version is available for £3399, positioning the range slightly below Samsung’s flagship S99H OLED TVs.
This release signals Samsung’s belief that Micro RGB offers significant capabilities, despite its technology being premium. The Micro RGB technology itself replaces conventional LCD lighting systems. Instead of shining white or blue lights through color filters, it uses dedicated red, green, and blue LEDs. This approach has the potential to greatly increase color gamuts, color volumes, power efficiency, and general brightness.
The R95H incorporates this new tech using a VA type of panel and is backed by a potent local dimming system. In the 75-inch model, this system includes a commanding 1792 individually controlled LED clusters, supplemented by extra dimming effects from each red, green, and blue LED.
Measuring a high level of color performance, the 75-inch R95H can cover nearly 150% of the DCI-P3 color spectrum and nearly 95% of the extreme BT2020 color spectrum. This allows the TV to deliver genuinely remarkable color extremes and an unprecedented LCD color response.
While the technology excels in color capabilities, the article notes that current content does not fully exploit the wide color gamut. Nevertheless, Samsung’s processing shows promise, mapping existing pictures to the TV’s capabilities. Furthermore, the R95H breaks new ground with its LCD backlight control and AI features.

On the design front, the R95H features an exceptionally slim screen frame and rear, making it a suitable choice for hanging installations. Although it ships with a desktop stand that slots into the bottom edge grooves, the design also includes a mirrored finish on the stand’s neck, creating an optical illusion of the screen floating above the base plate.
