ASRock has announced the simultaneous launch of five new CPU water cooler models, including the Pro, Challenger, Steel Legend, Phantom Gaming, and WS series. This extensive lineup allows ASRock to cater to users across the entire spectrum, ranging from affordable entry-level options to high-end cooling solutions equipped with LCD screens and advanced performance fans.
The Stellar Legend 360mm water cooler is highlighted as a premium choice for users seeking both superior design and high performance. The unit features an integrated display and utilizes high-performance LCP fans, making it subject to review regarding its capabilities against established models.
Technically, the ASRock Steel Legend 360 LCD (Product number: 90-ASLA36-WAAGA5) boasts several impressive specifications. The radiator fan setup includes three 120 x 120 x 28 mm LCP Fans operating at up to 2500 rpm, supporting wireless daisy chain and a 0-rpm mode.
The cooling system is further supported by a VRM Fan measuring 70 x 70 x 25 mm, designed to cool the voltage regulators independently. The radiator itself is constructed from aluminum, with dimensions of 397 x 120 x 27 mm (H x W x D).
Key components include a pump capable of running between 1200-3100 rpm, and an integrated 3.4″ IPS Display. This display has a resolution of 480 x 480 pixels and operates at 60 Hz, connecting via USB-C to a USB 2.0 Motherboard Header.
The cooler also incorporates customizable RGB lighting on the pump cover (A-RGB) and is compatible with various PC builds, including an available black color option alongside its original white model.
In terms of compatibility, the unit supports Intel LGA 1700 and 1851 sockets, as well as AMD AM4 and AM5. Its overall design is noted for being cohesive and suitable for any PC build, especially when customized using the LCD screen.
Operationally, the ASRock Steel Legend 360 LCD comes with supporting software including Polychrome Display, ASRock Polychrome RGB, Signal RGB, for use on Windows 10 and Windows 11. The process of installation and running the Polychrome Display Software was reported to be straightforward. While fan control was noted as slightly unbalanced in testing, adjustments to the fan curve allow the water cooler to operate quietly and effectively.
The unit includes a dedicated VRM fan for voltage regulators, ensuring that these components are cooled efficiently.
Despite its current price point of around 160 Euro, placing it in the upper mid-range market, the ASRock Steel Legend 360 LCD is praised for offering an impeccable build quality and a full feature set. Furthermore, ASRock provides a substantial warranty, covering six years on the radiator and two years on the display.
