Two Dead After Air Canada Jet Collides With Fire Truck

The pilot and co-pilot of an Air Canada jet have died following a collision with a fire truck during a landing at New York’s LaGuardia Airport.

The pilot killed in the crash has been identified as Antoine Forest, according to reports from CNN.

Audio recordings recovered from the LaGuardia air traffic control tower have revealed a conversation between a controller and a pilot on the runway.

In the audio recording, the air traffic controller appears to admit that he “messed up” just moments after the fatal crash occurred.

During the aftermath of the incident, a flight attendant was discovered alive outside of the aircraft, remaining strapped into her seat.

The flight attendant has been identified as Solange Tremblay.

According to CNN, Tremblay’s daughter confirmed her identity and stated that her mother suffered multiple fractures, which required surgery for a broken leg.

Approximately 40 passengers and crew members were transported to area hospitals for medical treatment following the incident.

The authority reported that some of those individuals suffered serious injuries in the collision.

Most of the passengers and crew members who were admitted to the hospitals have since been released.
