SOUNDPEATS has released the Air6 HS wireless earbuds, a true wireless earphone model that offers several core specifications. The device utilizes Bluetooth V6.0 and is supported by a QCC3091 chipset. Key audio codec support includes SBC, AAC, and LDAC, and it supports the profiles HSP, HFP, A2DP, and AVRCP. The earbuds boast a total playtime of up to 45 hours, achieved with a 500mAH charging case and 41*2 mAH in the earbuds. The charging process is facilitated via a Type-C port. A 10-minute fast charge provides 3 hours of usage time.
In terms of physical design and usability, the Air6 HS are described as well-made and comfortable for extended periods, possessing an IPX5 waterproof rating. The packaging details reveal a simple all-white box with gold printing, displaying certifications for Hi-Res Audio Wireless and LDAC support. It is packaged with a charging case, a Type-C charging cable, and a user manual. The unit itself is lightweight, with a single earbud weighing 4g.
Performance testing showed that the earbuds deliver a satisfyingly fun-sounding slight V-shaped signature. The audio reproduction is reported as having decent bass, mostly clear vocals, and bright trebles, with a decently wide soundstaging where layers are distinguishable. However, the review noted that the listening experience was not perfect, pointing out that each region sometimes lacked definition and had less-than-ideal characteristics. Improvement was also suggested for the depth of the sound image. The performance is noted to depend on the Air6 HS fitment, as slight movement can change the perceived sound.
Other notable aspects include the sound quality’s reliance on the fitment and the software experience. Furthermore, the review highlighted that the SOUNDPEATS mobile application is reportedly cluttered, and the persistent requirement for login and location permissions is frustrating.
Pricing-wise, the Air6 HS has an MSRP of $40, although there are opportunities to achieve a reduced price below $30 using coupons, offering significant value for its capabilities.
