Iran has issued a threat to target tourist destinations worldwide, coinciding with recent footage showing a 5000-year-old site being hit.
The warning expands potential targets far beyond the Middle East, indicating that tourist sites across the globe could be at risk.
This latest threat from Tehran occurs as the ongoing war involving the United States, Israel, and the Iranian dictatorship shows no signs of ending.
Iranian military spokesman General Abolfazl Shekarchi delivered the warning directly, which was broadcast on state television.
In his statement, Shekarchi declared that based on their information, parks, recreational areas, and tourist destinations anywhere in the world will no longer be safe.
While the general did not specify which particular destinations might be targeted, the true capacity of Iran to execute such global attacks remains unknown, leading to suggestions that the threat could be a bluff.
However, Iran is known to maintain overseas contacts and personnel, and a number of minor incidents in recent weeks have already been linked to the country.
