Bose has introduced a new flagship home audio lineup, the Lifestyle Collection, which includes the Lifestyle Ultra Soundbar, along with a new wireless speaker and subwoofer. The company is positioning these products to compete directly with established players in the multi-room audio and home cinema space, such as Sonos, Denon, Sony, and Bluesound.
The Lifestyle Ultra Soundbar serves as the replacement for Bose’s previous Smart Ultra Soundbar. While other models like the Smart Soundbar are expected to remain available, Bose has hinted that further replacements could be on the horizon. The launch of the Lifestyle Collection follows Bose’s decision to discontinue its SoundTouch speakers in late 2025.
The target audience for the Lifestyle Collection is described as design-conscious, mainstream buyers who primarily stream their content. The focus is on providing an experience that makes listening to music and watching films easy, rather than complicated.
A key part of this user-friendly approach is the redesigned Bose app, which has been rolling out to users over the past month. The app is intended to simplify control of the new products and the overall listening experience.
As expected from Bose, the Lifestyle Ultra Soundbar comes with a premium price tag. In the UK, it is priced the same as the Sonos Arc Ultra. This pricing strategy places it in direct competition with other high-end soundbars from Sonos, Sony, Bluesound, Denon, and Sennheiser.
The Ultra Speaker is positioned as more expensive than the Sonos Era 100 but competitively priced against models like the WiiM Sound, Denon Home 200, and Bluesound Pulse Flex (2025). The new Lifestyle collection is part of Bose’s broader strategy to re-establish its presence in the multi-room audio market.
Bose has indicated that the Lifestyle Collection is just the beginning, with hopes of more products being released in the future. While the company was non-committal about specific future products, there is speculation that more compact versions of the soundbar and subwoofer could be in development. The company’s focus remains on streaming-first households, though physical media fans have not been entirely forgotten.
