TRYX Turris 620: Reviewing the First Air Cooler with a Display

TRYX has released its first air cooler, the Turris 620, marking a new entrance into this market segment for the company.

The TRYX brand is notable for being an early adopter of curved displays in liquid CPU coolers. The Turris 620 follows this trend by featuring a prominent 5-inch IPS display.

This air cooler features a dual-tower, dual-fan design utilizing six 6mm-thick heatpipes and has a maximum thermal load capacity of 280W. During testing, it achieved the top results in its performance category.

The central feature is the 5-inch IPS display, which operates at 720p resolution at 60 FPS, boasting a pixel density of 294 PPI. Users can access TRYX Kanali software to select from 24 predefined animations or upload custom media such as videos, photos, and GIFs.

In addition to media content, the display allows for system stat overlays, although readability was noted as a potential weakness without an outline or shadow effect.

Despite its large size, installation is reported to be easy. The cooler can be installed with the motherboard inside the system, and the fans are designed on a rail system for straightforward removal. While it covers memory completely, the front fan is adjustable to accommodate larger memory modules.

While screens have been common on liquid coolers, TRYX is positioned as one of the first to bring high-quality displays to air cooling units. Its performance was rated highly, and it is currently available for $129.99. Overall, ThinkComputers assigned the TRYX Turris 620 a score of 9 out of 10.
