MSI MPG B850 EDGE TI WIFI Offers Budget-Friendly Features

The current market is experiencing a memory shortage and high costs for DDR5. In light of these high prices and budget constraints, opting for a B850 motherboard instead of an X870 or X870E model is presented as a practical alternative.

The MSI MPG B850 EDGE TI WIFI motherboard offers a solid feature set designed to appeal to users looking for this balance. Compared to higher-end X870 and X870E motherboards, the B850 EDGE TI WIFI only lacks a few specific features.

The primary differences between this board and the X870 series are a reduced number of PCI-Express 5.0 and 4.0 M.2 slots, along with the absence of USB4. Despite these omissions, the motherboard retains PCI-Express 5.0 support for both the graphics card and the primary M.2 slot.

To handle modern AMD processors, the motherboard is equipped with a 14+2+1 power phase design. Additionally, it provides USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 support through a front panel header.

Aesthetically, the motherboard features a sleek design highlighted by a white printed circuit board. It incorporates white and silver accents alongside a touch of RGB lighting on the rear I/O cover, making it suitable for white-themed computer builds.

The board includes several tool-less features to simplify installation. The top M.2 slot utilizes a tool-less heatsink, and all of the M.2 slots allow for the tool-less installation of drives.

On the rear of the board, connectivity options include three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports, as well as dedicated buttons for Flash BIOS and Clear CMOS. Networking is supported by full-bandwidth WiFi 7 and 5G Ethernet.

Finally, the motherboard operations are managed by the newly introduced Click BIOS X from MSI, providing an updated interface for users.
