SAMA, a company previously known as an OEM for several major brands, has recently expanded into the retail market under its own name. The brand has previously released solid and well-priced products such as the L70 360 WH Liquid CPU Cooler and the A60E CPU Cooler. Now, the company introduces its first PC case for review, the V62. This mid-tower case boasts a panoramic curved glass design and comes equipped with seven included ARGB fans.
Initial impressions of the SAMA V62 case revealed a mix of notable strengths and some areas where improvements could be made. For a first look at a SAMA PC case, the overall experience presented both appealing features and certain drawbacks.
The SAMA V62 is designed as an aquarium-style PC case, a concept that is reportedly executed very well. Both the front and side panels are crafted from tempered glass, offering an expansive view into the system’s interior. The front glass panel is also curved, contributing to the case’s sleek and streamlined aesthetic. To complement this display-oriented design, SAMA has included seven ARGB fans, which feature infinity mirrors and are noted for their appealing appearance. These fans arrive pre-wired to a hub and controller, which connects to a button on the front of the case, allowing for easy, software-free control over the RGB effects. However, the fan wiring to the controller was observed to be somewhat messy, and removing the plastic film from each fan posed a minor inconvenience.
Despite being a relatively compact mid-tower, the V62 offers ample interior space. It supports ATX motherboards, including newer back-connect models, along with long graphics cards, full-size power supplies, and up to three hard drives.
Installation within the V62 can be challenging due to several design choices. It was noted that not all motherboard standoffs were pre-installed on the motherboard tray. A critical installation point involves cable routing: all cables destined for the bottom of the motherboard must be routed *before* the motherboard is installed, as these connections become blocked once the board is in place. Furthermore, the storage bracket located on the backside of the case requires all cable routing and organizing to be completed beforehand, as access to those cables is significantly restricted once the bracket is re-installed. This design can necessitate the complete removal of the motherboard from the case to connect or re-route bottom headers, such as those for fans or USB 2.0. The fans themselves may also obstruct the bottom expansion slot.
Regarding cooling performance, the V62 delivers good results thanks to its seven included fans. These fans are PWM-enabled, a detail highlighted as a valuable feature given that some brands omit PWM functionality to cut costs. The case also provides additional cooling expandability, with room for three more fans or a 360mm All-in-One (AiO) liquid cooler at the top.
The SAMA V62 PC case is currently available for $124.99. This price is considered very competitive, especially when factoring in the seven included ARGB fans and their accompanying hub/controller. While the case may not exhibit the same level of fit and finish seen in products from other established brands, its value proposition is strong for those willing to navigate the reported installation complexities.
ThinkComputers ultimately awarded the SAMA V62 PC Case a score of 7 out of 10. The case offers a sleek design, support for back-connect motherboards, and a strong cooling package with its included ARGB fans, making it an appealing option despite its installation-related quirks.
