Intel Appoints Aparna Bawa as Chief Legal and People Officer

Intel Corporation has announced the appointment of Aparna Bawa as its new Executive Vice President and Chief Legal and People Officer. In this dual capacity, Bawa is set to officially join the company in May.

Bawa will report directly to Intel Chief Executive Officer Lip-Bu Tan. Her role will encompass leading the global legal, ethics, compliance, people, and culture organizations across the company.

The appointment arrives as Intel seeks to accelerate its broader transformation and execution agenda under Tan’s leadership. The company is actively focusing on strengthening its internal leadership, accountability, and execution capabilities.

According to CEO Lip-Bu Tan, the intersection of legal and people leadership is vital as the company pursues a cultural transformation rooted in discipline, speed, and integrity. Tan noted that Bawa brings a rare mix of operational rigor, business judgment, and people-first leadership to the executive team.

Tan further emphasized that her past experience in scaling global technology companies through periods of significant change will be an invaluable asset in building a more agile and robust Intel.

Bawa transitions to Intel from Zoom, where she previously served as Chief Operating Officer. During her tenure at Zoom, she oversaw critical operational, legal, and people functions amidst a period characterized by rapid growth and global scaling.

Before her time at Zoom, Bawa occupied various senior legal and leadership roles within the technology sector. Through these positions, she developed deep expertise spanning corporate governance, global compliance, employment law, mergers and acquisitions, and organizational transformation.

Within the technology industry, Bawa is widely recognized for her capability to effectively align corporate culture, governance, and execution within high-growth environments.

In her newly established position at Intel, Bawa is tasked with strengthening the company’s legal and compliance foundations. Simultaneously, she will be responsible for advancing a high-performance culture across the workforce.

Another core component of her duties involves ensuring that Intel’s people strategy is fully aligned to support its long-term business priorities. She will play a central role in shaping the overarching leadership culture, talent strategy, and governance as Intel enters its next operational phase.
