Infinix Note 60 Ultra Review: Design Meets Specs in a Flashy New Handset

The Infinix Note 60 Ultra is described as a stylish and feature-packed handset featuring bold Pininfarina-inspired design, strong battery life, and unusual extra features.

The device is tall, dark, and handsome, designed in partnership with the Italian design house Pininfarina. It comes available in Italian-themed takes on red, blue, and silver.

A distinctive feature mentioned is a small multi-use button similar to Apple’s Action Button located on one side. The handset also includes a flat sensor-type zone identified as a health monitor. Other unique elements include JBL-branded stereo speakers and a dot-matrix rear display beside the cameras.

Further unusual additions are a handy IR blaster on top, and confirmation that the device is a two-way satellite phone.

The main display is 6.8 inches and utilizes top-end AMOLED technology, though its presentation was noted as lacking pop. One positive aspect of the screen is its ability to reach high brightness levels, effortlessly managing direct harsh sunlight.

However, limitations were observed in the display’s features; while Ultra HDR is available for photos, support for standards like HDR10, HLG, or Dolby Vision was absent. Furthermore, although it can climb up to 144Hz, its refresh rate cannot scale down below 60Hz, limiting battery optimization modes.

The performance metrics show the Infinix Note 60 Ultra scored 1298 and 6435 on the Geekbench 6 single and multi-core tests. While this is lower than competitors like the Poco with Mediatek’s 9500s chipset, it was noted that the device still powers through demanding tasks.

The battery capacity is 7000mAh, offering substantial multi-day use unless heavily used with gaming or maximum brightness. It features a 100W charging ceiling and supports 50W wireless charging. A 15-minute charge provides at least two days of standby time.

Camera hardware includes a capable triple-camera setup: a 200MP main sensor, a 50MP 3.5x telephoto lens, and an 8MP ultrawide camera. The main camera is highlighted as a significant upgrade, capturing detailed shots with strong contrast and good dynamic range in daylight.

The 50MP telephoto zoom remains effective at its native 3.5x setting, producing crisp images. The 8MP ultrawide camera performs respectably for its type, offering good colors and usable dynamic range. Additionally, the 32MP selfie camera was reported to produce sharp, flattering selfies.

The device operates on Infinix’s in-house XOS 16 skin based on Android 16. While there is some pre-installed social media bloat and first-party utility apps, users can toggle off unwanted services like Taboola through Google News feed settings.
