Apple has just released iOS 26.1, which includes a new transparency toggle for Liquid Glass. This feature addresses legibility issues introduced in iOS 26 by allowing users to adjust the glassy design of buttons, tabs, and other navigational elements. With this update, iPhone users can now choose between the current translucent design or a new frosted look that increases opacity and contrast for better visibility.
In addition to the Liquid Glass enhancement, iOS 26.1 brings several other updates. Live Translation now supports AirPods for languages including Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Italian. Apple Music’s MiniPlayer now features a swipe gesture for easier track navigation, and AutoMix support over AirPlay has been added. For audio enthusiasts, gain control for external USB microphones during local capture recordings is now available, with the option to save files to specific locations.
Fitness enthusiasts will appreciate the new manual workout logging feature directly accessible from the Fitness app. Camera functionality has been improved with a new setting to toggle the Lock Screen swipe to open the Camera. FaceTime audio quality has been enhanced for low-bandwidth conditions, ensuring clearer calls even with less stable connections.
For family safety, Communication Safety and Web content filters to limit adult websites are now enabled by default for child accounts aged 13-17, with variations based on regional age restrictions. Alongside iOS, Apple has also updated iPadOS, macOS Tahoe, watchOS, visionOS, and tvOS to version 26.1, ensuring a cohesive experience across its device ecosystem.
