Anker SOLIX C2000 Gen 2 Review: Quiet, Powerful Backup for Modern Homes

The Anker SOLIX C2000 Gen 2 is described as a quiet, powerful, and flexible rechargeable power station. The device is presented as a notable advancement for Anker, particularly in features and cooling fan noise compared to older models.

It is positioned as suitable for both home backup and for serving as a core component of a recreational vehicle’s power system. The review notes that, despite its compact size for a 2kWh capacity, it provides substantial power. The unit weighs 19kg and has a capacity of 2048 watt-hours (Wh).

The C2000 Gen 2 offers a medium-heavy-duty supply, capable of sustaining 2400 watts (2.4kW) of output power. This capacity is stated to be sufficient to power most modern household devices, excluding items like four-slot toasters and highly powerful kettles. In theory, at its maximum output, the device can sustain its power for just over 50 minutes.

Connectivity includes four AC power sockets, across which the 2400W maximum output is distributed. The port array also features three USB-C sockets (two of which are 140W PD capable), a single USB A port rated at 15W, and a cigarette lighter-style DC output port. For dedicated DC input, an XT60i port is included, which supports solar and car recharging. An optional 2048Wh expansion battery can be added, increasing the total capacity to 4048Wh.

The device features several advanced operational modes. It defaults to an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) mode, offering both recharging capability when power is available and bypassing power to mains devices. Should primary power fail, it switches to battery mode in a claimed 10 milliseconds. Furthermore, a time-of-use mode allows users to configure off-peak electricity hours for automatic recharging and subsequent power provision. In this mode, the C2000 supports up to 94% depth of discharge, switching to bypass power at 6% to prevent complete battery depletion.

The C2000 Gen 2 utilizes lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells, which are rated to retain at least 80% of their capacity after 4000 full charge cycles. Anker claims the device is designed to last 10 years, backed by a five-year warranty.

In terms of design improvements, the C2000 Gen 2 is noted for its compactness and lower height compared to its predecessor, the SOLIX F2000. The side cooling vents are positioned near the handles, which helps prevent them from being blocked.

While the device is highly capable for backup and RV use, the review cautions against buying it solely for portability, as it is described as big and heavy. It is presented as a superior option to the SOLIX F2000, being smaller, lighter, quieter, and possessing a more versatile range of power modes, while launching at a lower price point than the F2000 at the time of review.
