Sapphire Radeon HD 6770 fleX 1GB Graphics Card

Sapphire Radeon HD 6770 fleX 1GB Graphics Card

Video Cards are an expensive part of the system building process and/or can be a large expense in the upgrade budget. With E3 2011 going on this weekend a lot of earth shattering titles are being shown and most computer enthusiasts want to be able to play the games in their full technological glory, including AMD’s immersive Eyefinity technology, however the largest part of the video card consumers will simply be ecstatic if they can even get the game to run on their machine.

This is where Sapphire comes in, they have done a wonderful job in catering to all different types of consumers in the graphic market segments, be it productivity, low to high range gaming enthusiasts or home user who would like to be able to dabble in both. There is no wonder with this type of commitment to all levels of consumers that they are indeed the worlds #1 manufacturer of ATI Radeon Graphics, they’ve proven time and time again they are willing not only to release standard editions of their cards like other ATI Radeon Manufacturers, but go above and beyond adding value and features like fleX technology that are unique to their brand.

Sapphire has done it again with its newest release to the Sapphire fleX family, making Eyefinity an easily affordable and hassle free solution with the Sapphire HD6770 fleX edition. Sapphire’s HD6770 fleX is based on the Juniper XT chipset and has been released at a price point that will make most consumers eyes nearly pop out of their sockets when they realize what performance they can achieve for such a low investment.

The Sapphire 6770 fleX compared to the 5770 fleX of old offers lower voltages and temperatures, and as we see the older 5000 series cards fade off into the distance, we see this card as a proud successor to the AMD line. The 6770 fleX offers new features such as AMD HD3D support with a HDMI 1.4a output port, OpenGL 4.1 support, Enhanced support for Internet browser applications and Microsoft office 2010, and AMD app acceleration, AMD App acceleration has proven itself to contend with its competitors by using the power of the AMD Radeon GPU to speed up everyday tasks when watching blu ray movies, web browsing, or streaming video and other HD content online, helping to ensure a smooth high quality experience in most of today’s important tasks.

Patriot Memory Viper Xtreme DDR3 2000MHz

Patriot Memory Viper Xtreme DDR3 2000MHz

The second generation of i7 processors have taken the PC world by storm, with many users switching over to the current P67 chipsets, and even more (yours truly included) anxiously awaiting the upcoming Z77, and Z78 chipsets.

A majority of PC enthusiasts feel the X58 platform is dead, and that it is time to move on. It’s hard to argue against that thinking, as Sandy Bridge has proven to be a faster and better-overclocking chip then its older brothers. Some companies, however, like Asus and Gigabyte, seem to be believe it is premature to start playing “Taps” for the X58 chipset. So much so that they are planning to release new X58 motherboards. As these companies seem to be attempting to extend the life of the chipset, it seems likely that at least some type of X58-specific memory would be released as well.

Patriot Memory steps into this niche with the Viper Xtreme DDR3 2000MHz 12GB kit. Released towards the end of 2010, these memory modules have received generally good reviews from both review sites and customers alike. Today, we will be giving you our own take on this kit.

By comparison, it takes 7 minutes 33 seconds for an older single channel USB 2.0 drive to move this same 8.5GB movie file over to the PC. This is a simple test you can try for yourself right now, find an 8.5GB file and time how long it takes to transfer it over to your USB drive....

Gigabyte GA-X58-USB3 Motherboard

Gigabyte GA-X58-USB3 Motherboard

Gigabyte are widely regarded as one of the biggest computer component manufacturers in the world, especially in the motherboard market. They cater for all of the latest AMD and Intel platforms including AM3, socket 1156, 1155 and 1366 and with Sandy Bridge taking over, we still believe that 1366 has some life left in it.

1366 based boards are still being sold all across the world and will eventually be taken over by the X79 chipset sometime in the near future, though this doesn't mean that X58 will be phased out straight away and this leading board manufacturer will keep producing these products until there is no market for them anymore.

Some consumers are still on the X58 ship and don't believe in jumping from it any time soon as they believe that Sandybridge and 1155 still isn't as powerful as the well loved 1366 socket with its triple channel memory support and fantastic stability.

Today sees us look at the X58-USB3 board from Gigabyte which shouts out that it's a socket 1366 board, with stability in mind and aimed at users who want the best performance and blistering speed for their peripherals and USB devices. Let's see if it delivers.

Thermaltake has brought this case to market with a design for gamers and I think they did well in regard to the aesthetic design. This is the kind of case I know a lot of gamers like. Construction on this case is also great; it's very rigid and the plastic bits have almost no flex in them. Thermaltake also has this case for sale at an attractive price of $109 with a 3 Year Warranty. Thermaltake also offers spot on results for their fan specifications, making this case incredibly quiet. Which would be great if the case were for HTPC use...
